I was able to read a pre-release of this story and thought it not only a great story, but thought reading some of the facts about the civil war (slaves needed to have a “pass” on them if moving around the city that says they have permission to be out. If you like stories about history, romance, music, this ones for you.

I read the story (pre-released version) and loved that the story had racial components, both historical and romantically. I will buy one for my friend to recommend to her book club. Great story.
